摘要: Abstract For the initial phase of MAST-U operation two existing neutral beam injection systems will be used, but must substantially upgraded to fulfil expected operational requirements. The major elements are design, manufacture and installation a bespoke bending magnet Residual Ion Dump (RID) system. MAST-design full energy dump is being replaced with new actively-cooled full, half third dumps, designed receive 2.4 MW ion power deflected by an iron-cored electromagnet. main design challenge limited space available in vacuum vessel, requiring ion-deflection calculations ensure acceptable heat flux distribution on panels. This paper presents engineering physics analysis MAST beamlines reports current status manufacture.
