摘要: Implantable microfabricated microelectrode arrays represent a versatile and powerful tool to record electrophysiological activity across multiple spatial locations in the brain. Spikes field potentials, however, correspond only fraction of physiological information available at neural interface. In urethane-anesthetized rats, were implanted acutely for simultaneous recording striatal local spikes, electrically evoked dopamine overflow on same spatiotemporal scale. During these multi-modal recordings we observed (1) that amperometric method used detect did not significantly influence activity, (2) electrical stimulation medial forebrain bundle (MFB) region resulted electrochemically transduced transients striatum spatially heterogeneous within least 200 microm, (3) following MFB stimulation, levels exhibited similar temporal profiles. These probes are capable incorporating customized geometries configurations, which may be useful examining specific relationships between chemical signaling
