摘要: Abstract The purpose of the present study was to investigate involvement cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), and tyrosine kinase on prostaglandin E 2 (PGE ) production in human gingival fibroblasts stimulated by interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and/or epidermal growth factor (EGF). cytokine IL-1β a lesser extent EGF, enhanced COX-2 mRNA levels fibroblasts. Simultaneous treatment with EGF resulted accompanied synergistic stimulation PGE biosynthesis compared cells treated or alone. Neither nor combination COX-1 inhibitors, Herbimycin A PD 153035 hydrochloride, reduced as well induced whereas were not affected. Furthermore, specific inhibitor, NS-398, abolished IL-1β, combination. These results indicate that synergy between is due an gene expression kinase(s) are involved signal transduction
