摘要: Photodynamic therapy (PDT) for cancer is based on the use of a light sensitive molecule to produce, under specific irradiation, toxic reactive oxygen species (ROS). A way improve efficiency increase amount produced ROS near cells. This aim can be achieved by using metal enhanced process arising when an optically active located metallic nanoparticle (NP). Here, coupling effect between silver (Ag) NPs and protoporphyrin IX (PpIX) molecules, clinically approved photosensitizer, studied compared first, PpIX fluorescence yield second, production efficiency. By applying modified Stober process, was encapsulated into silica (SiO 2 ) shell, surrounding 60 nm sized Ag core. We showed that, SiO -PpIX NPs, coated dramatically decreased together with singlet However, after incubation time in dark, superoxide anions generated doped sample higher than control one.
