摘要: Analyses of polypeptides made in HEp-2 cells infected with herpes simplex virus type 1 by high-resolution polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis revealed the synthesis at least 49 cell (ICP) ranging molecular weight from 15,000 to 280,000. Evidence for specificity based on increased rates postinfection, immunological specificity, and viral control mobility rate was available 47 ICP. These can account 75% genetic information assuming a DNA 10(8) asymmetric transcription. On basis their relative virion proteins, ICP were classified as structural (S, 23 polypeptides), nonstructural (NS, 16 unassigned (U, 10 polypeptides). Analysis following. (i) Rapid posttranslational cleavages HSV proteins not detected; parallel experiments rapid readily demonstrated poliovirus-infected these blocked protease inhibitors. (ii) Slow changes two observed. (iii) examined four intervals postinfection regulation pattern amount synthesized. formed six classes (A F) differing kinetics synthesis. S NS distributed nonrandomly among classes. Thus, sum protein amino acid sequences apportioned kinetic classes, 47%, constituting class A comprising "late" characterized progressively increasing until 12 h postinfection; whereas "early" C, amounting 31% total sequences, synthesized initially 4 declining thereafter. remaining other classes-B, D, E, F. Control abundance evident that equimolar amounts. However, could be differentiated molar The bulk detected did differ more than eightfold
