Photosynthesized escin stabilized gold nanoparticles exhibit antidiabetic activity in L6 rat skeletal muscle cells

摘要: Abstract Herein, a natural sunlight mediated synthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) using escin, triterpenoid glycoside was reported for the first time. Transmission electron microscopy imaging revealed that size escin stabilized AuNPs falls within range 5–20 nm and their surface plasmon resonance maximum observed at 530 nm. Escin-AuNPs found to improve insulin-dependent glucose uptake in L6 rat skeletal muscle cells, which further confirmed by estimating stored glycogen content. exhibited excellent free radical scavenging activity. Thus, escin-AuNPs may be considered as promising molecule test against diabetic complications.
