摘要: Objectives The efficiency of the Astree e-tongue and Taste Sensing system TS5000Z for evaluation taste masking effect hot melt extruded formulations was investigated in this study. Methods Hot extrusion (HME) processing optimized using Randcastle single screw extruder (USA) to manufacture extrudates with desirable characteristics. Cationic model drug propranolol HCl (PRP) processed anionic polymers – Eudragit L100 (L100) L100-55 (Acryl-EZE). Solid state polymer matrices evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential calorimetry, particle size analysis, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analysis. In-vitro two performed different e-tongues (Astree TS5000Z). The results obtained from both were further compared contrast find out sensor outputs all formulations. Key findings Solid analysis revealed presence amorphous PRP. Both able detect variations good agreement in-vivo a panel six healthy human volunteers (R2 > 0.84). However, each demonstrated sensitivity, suggesting careful consideration experimental findings during extrusion, is necessary development taste-masked formulations. Furthermore, FTIR spectroscopy NMR studies possible intermolecular interactions as mechanism successful masking. Conclusions HME can effectively be used formulations, while satisfactory
