Effectiveness of a physical activity intervention for Head Start preschoolers: a randomized intervention study.

摘要: OBJECTIVES. The level of children's motor skill proficiency may be an important determinant their physical activity behaviors. This study assessed the efficacy intervention on gross performance, activity, and weight status preschoolers. METHOD. Food Friends: Get Movin' With Mighty Moves(®) program was conducted in four Head Start centers. Measurements included Peabody Developmental Motor Scales, pedometer counts, body mass index (BMI) z scores. RESULTS. led to significant changes skills treatment group (n = 98) compared with control 103) a strong predictor overall performance (gross quotient), locomotor, stability, object manipulation skills.
