On the Use of Surrogate Species in Conservation Biology

摘要: Conservation biologists have used surrogate species as a shortcut to monitor or solve conservation problems. Indicator been assess the magnitude of anthropogenic disturbance, population trends in other species, and locate areas high regional biodiversity. Unfortunately, there has considerable confusion over these terms, several applied loosely interchangeably. We attempt provide some clarification guide- lines application different terms.
