摘要: Abstract OBJECTIVE: This study was designed to test the hypothesis that endothelin-1 pretreatment of human myometrium at subcontractile doses in vitro will enhance contractile response oxytocin. STUDY DESIGN: In oxytocin dose-response curves were generated by use myometrial strips collected from nonpregnant women ( n = 7), pregnant patients elective cesarean section and pateints active labor 7) presence or absence 10 −9 mol/L endothelin-1. Contractile responses analyzed on-line computer, data normalized maximum potassium. RESULTS: Pretreatment with significantly increased maximal p CONCLUSION: Endothelin-1 potentiates but not women. We speculate a high circulating level uterotonin-like may be necessary initiate labor. The synergistic interaction between different uterotonins sufficient.
