摘要: BACKGROUND The risk of obesity is determined by complex interactions between genetic and environmental factors. Little research to date has investigated the interaction gene food intake. aim current study explore potential effect fat mass obesity-associated protein (FTO) rs9939609 rs9930506 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) on pattern intake in Emirati population. METHODS Adult healthy subjects with Body index (BMI) 16-40 kg/m2 were included study. Genotyping for FTO rs9939609(A>T) rs9930506(A>G) was performed using DNA from saliva samples. Subjects categorized according WHO classification calculating BMI compare different classes. Dietary assessed a sixty-one-item FFQ that estimated beverage intakes over past year. daily energy, macronutrient, micronutrient consumption computed. RESULTS We 169 final analysis (mean age 30.49± 9.1years, 57.4% females). mean population 26.19 kg/m2. Both SNPs Hardy Weinberg Equilibrium. AA genotype significantly associated higher (p = 0.004); significant females 0.028), but not males 0.184). Carbohydrate trend lower compared other genotypes. odds ratio 3.78 fourth quartile 2.67 A/T second total carbohydrate intake, considering first as reference (95% CI 1.017-14.1 1.03-6.88, respectively). Fat GG subjects. presence decreased 0.037). CONCLUSIONS results this highlight alleles had latter accentuated genotype.
