摘要: Acid neutralizing capacity (ANC) of antacids is an important indicator the efficacy such products. The purpose this study to evaluate effect pharmaceutical properties on ANC antacid oral suspensions. Fifteen suspensions randomly sourced from different manufacturers and coded A1-A15 were assessed using ANC, raft formation, sedimentation profiles, ease re-dispersibility, density, alkalinity, particle size, viscosity rheological patterns. effects discussed conclusions drawn. results showed that ten (66.67 %) samples passed test among which 5 (83.33 non-sedimenting highly viscous One sample (A5) presented formation. Sedimentation volume reduces with time, re-dispersibility was in seconds density range for all 1.06–1.26 g/mL. sizes within coarse dispersions. values ranged 39.33 ± 1.53 2508 24.33 cp. rheogram A3 shows a Newtonian flow regression coefficient 0.999 it had least ANC. Other present non-Newtonian pseudoplastic pattern. Comparison no direct relationship between two variables although most low failed test. acid influenced by dynamics parameters including type active ingredient, profile, overall rheology suspension.
