Misoprostol for induction of labor with a live fetus

摘要: Induction of labor is common in clinical practice. Many different medical and mechanical methods have been used, but the current gold standard vaginal dinoprostone. Misoprostol has used for induction since 1987. In early studies with large misoprostol doses (e.g. 200 μg) there were high rates uterine hyperstimulation. Cochrane meta-analysis, however, shows that when low it as effective dinoprostone no excess 25 μg 4-hourly, 50 oral 4-hourly or 20 solution 2-hourly are all safe regimens.
