摘要: To date, Malaysian pineapple cultivars has only been characterized morphologically. A more consistent and accurate method such as biomarker is highly crucial to distinguish establish the genetic relationship between different cultivars. In this work, we conducted a phylogenetic analysis of eight using chloroplastic DNA biomarker, ribulose-bisphosphate carboxylase (rbcL) gene. The rbcL gene was isolated from genomic DNA, amplified sequenced. Ananas comosus approximately 1100 bp. From multialignment cultivars, percentage sequence similarity ranged 71.1% 94.98% conserved throughout sequences. Phylogenetic which carried out maximum parsimony revealed that can be classified into two groups. first group consist Yankee Gandul while Moris, Moris Bentanggur, Gajah, N36, Josaphine Sarawak falls under second group. Bootstrap values in some branches are low reflect small number informative characters (981 conserved, 12 potentially informative). Formation several or subclades due its similar pattern, thus supporting classification. This study confirmed good indicator determine distinguishing
