摘要: Using pedicle screws and rods in the lumbar spine has been familiar to surgeons since 1980s. Originally, these constructs were used stabilize while bony incorporation of fusion bone graft occurred. Now, there are many options for devices that all built upon this early screw concept. While placement not changed, variety implants available attach them changed dramatically. As interest motion preserving technology increased spine, we now seeing a wide array flexible, or semirigid, as well facet joint replacements designed be implanted using other anchoring placed into pedicles. One first pedicle-based dynamic stabilization was Graf ligament. Semirigid provide stability but have some flexibility reduce stresses on adjacent segments. designs flexible available, little data from which determine if they offer benefit over traditional stiffer any posterior at all, particularly when an interbody performed. Several types introduced use system. Unfortunately, systems new very currently concerning their clinical effectiveness. technologies exciting, time needed results.
