摘要: The chromosome structure of lactic acid bacteria has been investigated only recently. development pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) combined with other DNA-based techniques enables whole-genome analysis any bacterium, and allowed rapid progress to be made in the knowledge genome. Lactic possess one smallest eubacterial chromosomes. Depending on species, genome sizes range from 1.1 2.6 Mb. Combined physical genetic maps several species are already available or close being achieved. Knowledge genomic these organisms will serve as a basis for future studies. Macrorestriction fingerprinting by PFGE is major tools strain differentiation, identification individual strains, detection lineages. data resulting studies general application improvement.
