摘要: Little is known about the digestion of nutrients in stomachless (agastric) fishes with short intestines, such as wrasse. This study describes digestion, absorption and evacuation rates ballan wrasse (Labrus bergylta) fed either dry or pre-soaked diets. Ballan juveniles received diets containing inert markers to determine intestinal over a 4 14 h period after ingestion. The digestive tract was completed 12 - h, not affected by dietary moisture level. Within different segments intestine, 90 % digesta moved from foregut midgut 8 7 had arrived hindgut feeding. major site where 86 carbohydrates, 74 proteins, 50 lipids, were absorbed diet. carbohydrates lipids increased until (98 80 %, respectively). Protein continued along length intestine reaching at hindgut. carbohydrate slightly higher for fish versus moist diets, but this difference disappeared midgut. levels diet no effect on levels, expression metabolic genes, plasma, health. Nine aquaporins found be expressed tissue. Vertebrate are involved water transport lumen into body may play role maintaining stable level regardless initial levels.
