摘要: The link between melanoma development and the use of oral combined contraceptives is not fully elucidated, data concerning this issue are scarce controversial. In present study, we show that components contraceptives, ethinylestradiol (EE), levonorgestrel (LNG), their combination (EE + LNG) ± UVB (ultraviolet B radiation) induced differential effects on healthy (human keratinocytes, fibroblasts, primary epidermal melanocytes, murine epidermis cells) cells (human-A375 murine-B164A5), as follows: (i) at low doses (1 µM), hormones were devoid significant toxicity cells, but in they triggered cell death via apoptosis; (ii) higher (10 µM) associated with cytotoxicity all most affected being cells; (iii) irradiation proved to be toxic for types (iv) hormonal stimulation led a synergistic case human cells-A375 improved viability rates B164A5 cells. A weak irritant potential exerted by EE LNG was assessed means chick chorioallantoic membrane assay. Further studies required elucidate hormones' type-dependent antimelanoma effect role played melanin context.
