摘要: The second cervical vertebra (C2) is in a pivotal position for the alignment and stability of vertebrae as whole. Since its spinal canal wider at cranial narrower caudal end, dome-like excision inner side from toward end results decompression lesion, preserving dorsal part C2. authors performed this C2 expansive laminoplasty on 33 patients (25 cases ossification posterior longitudinal ligament, six developmental stenosis, two spondylosis) kept them under follow-up observation, which ranged 1 to 7 years (mean, 3.5 years). result was satisfactory terms vertebrae: even 5 after operation, no osteogenesis noted expanded induce compression again. It thus may be concluded that method good enough replace conventional laminectomy.
