摘要: A homologous RIA for human beta-lipotropin (beta hLPH) has been developed. At a final dilution of 1:24,000, the antiserum employed shows cross-reaction with beta hLPH but none beta-MSH hMSH), and it is concluded that antigenic determinant lies within N-terminal 1-36 region hLPH. With extraction 3-ml plasma samples, assay sufficiently sensitive to measure circulating levels in normal individuals at 0900 h (25-200 pg/ml). There circadian variation falling (less than 20-80 pg/ml) 2300 h. rise after metyrapone insulin-induced hypoglycemia, fall administration dexamethasone. In patients variety diseases pituitary-adrenal axis, follow immunoreactive ACTH levels, although two are not always secreted on 1:1 molar basis.
