摘要: Abstract The catalytic decomposition of dilute aqueous solutions hydrogen peroxide has been studied on a number Group VIII metals and binary alloys, including palladium-gold. kinetics were measured at 27 ° as function catalyst composition pH the solution. In neutral solution, activity individual 3 was generally greater than those 2 , order specific (per unit surface area) decreasing in sequence Pt > Os Ir Pd Ru Rh. Alloys PtPd, PtRu PtRh showed activities intermediate between constituent metals. PtIr PdAu exhibited maximum alloy compositions. depended strongly solutions, rate rising to sharp values 10–11, accordance with radical-chain mechanism for decomposition.
