摘要: Drought is one of the most important types abiotic stress that affects stability and amount yield. This study was conducted to screen for drought tolerance at early seedling stages 318 ecogeographically diverse wild barley (Hordeum vulgare L. spp. spontaneum) diversity collection (WBDC). Considerable variation observed all characters examined. Seedling growth significantly reduced by 17% polyethyleneglycol-induced with significant among accessions. Shoot length sensitive trait, however, rootshoot ratio increased under osmotic stress. Correlation studies indicated root followed shoot root-shoot ratio. Principal components analysis (PCA) performed first two principal (PC) explained 78.3% present in WBDC PC1 (50.1%) associated length. PC2 (28.1%) related PCA showed accessions from Fertile Crescent particularly Jordan Israel high than other geographical regions stage. The WBDC009 (Jordan), WBDC075 (Libya), WBDC211 (Uzbekistan), WBDC242 WBDC254 (Jordan) WBDC289 (Israel) exhibited highest index, indicating level tolerance. Consequently, these stage are considered be good sources cultivated
