摘要: Abstract Lithospheric domains in the Slave Province, inferred from regional variations chemistry of mantle-derived garnets, are parallel with northeasterly structural trends Neoarchean surface rocks and were used previously to infer Late crust–mantle coupling argue against presence diamondiferous Mesoarchean lithosphere under western craton prior its late orogenic climax. A review more recent evidence does not support this view but concludes that a lithospheric root was coupled crust Central superterrane (CSST) accretion adjacent juvenile terranes. significant part survived break-up CSST, terrane complex sequence post-accretion deformation, granitoid plutonism metamorphism. It least modified ultra-depleted harzburgitic layer (UDL) central Contwoyto terrane, where it is trapped above deepest an underplated Paleoproterozoic slab which stabilized remnants Archean caused downward younging lithosphere. Upper mantle recognized on basis distribution peridotitic garnets primary features either inherited original or resulted tectonic erosion and/or metasomatism root. The Province resembles other cratons diamond endowment consists both stones.
