摘要: Abstract Background and objective An important input to decision-making health planning is a consistent comparative description of the population status. The purpose this study was describe burden disease in Region Valencia (Spain). Material methods Disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) were calculated divided into lost (YLLs) lived with disability (YLDs). Using death registry data Valencian estimates 2008, we number deaths YLLs. YLDs based on age- sex-specific for countries EURO-A subregional level (which includes Valencia) from Global Burden Disease study. results stratified by age group, sex underlying cause death. DALY values used rank leading conditions burden. Results In total DALYs about 551 thousands (53% men). main categories neuropsychiatric (30%; 167 thousands), malignant tumors (15%; 85 cardiovascular diseases (13%; 72 thousands) sense organ (8%; 46 thousands). Depression (8% DALYs; 47 dementias 42 ischaemic heart (5%; 27 hearing loss (4%; 22 stroke 20 lung cancer (3%; 19 specific causes Conclusions We provide first time ever information population. At local level, use can help monitor status guide debates rational priority-setting.
