摘要: We present the online MultiDark Database -- a Virtual Observatory-oriented, relational database for hosting various cosmological simulations. The data is accessible via an SQL (Structured Query Language) query interface, which also allows users to directly pose scientific questions, as shown in number of examples this paper. Further usage are given its extensive documentation (www.multidark.org). based on same technology Millennium Database, fact that will greatly facilitate both suites first release hosts two 8.6 billion particle N-body simulations: Bolshoi (250/h Mpc simulation box, 1/h kpc resolution) and Run1 (MDR1, or BigBolshoi, 1000/h 7/h resolution). extraction methods halos/subhalos from raw data, how structured explained With release, get full access halo/subhalo catalogs, profiles halos at redshifts z=0-15, dark matter one time-step four time-steps simulation. Later releases include galaxy mock catalogs additional merging trees simulations well new large volume with high resolution. This project further proof viability store complex using technology. encourage other simulators publish their results similar manner.
