摘要: Evidence from sedimentology is combined with that of palynology and macropalaeobotany to arrive at a general reconstruction the Early Eocene environment in Macquarie Harbour western Tasmania its major vegetation types. The interpreted as estuarine range subenvironments including mouth bar, fully subtidal sands, tidal flat mangroves, freshwater swamps. Supratidal swamp forest (sometimes conifer-dominated) was fringed Nypa mangrove swamps high regions. Non-vegetated mud sand flats occurred regions longer submergence. beds are given formation status Strahan Sand Member defined.
