摘要: Remote sensing and field evidence are used to describe sand deposits found in associated pathways of emplacement the eastern Mojave Desert. Two separate identified here: one extending eastward from Bristol Playa through Cadiz Danby Playas Rice Valley Colorado River, a second parallel path Dale Palen Ford Mule Mountains near River. The preferential location ramps on west slopes mountains along each suggests that moving, wind-driven was not confined by topographic divides between drainage basins around individual playas valleys. Sediment analysis selected samples shows there discreet associations characteristics pathways, with an inferred similarity stabilized (vegetated) sands Valley, dunes Cactus Plain La Posa Arizona, east Sand transport paths appears have been episodic, based multiple paleosols present several dissected ramps. Future testing hypothesis will require additional sediment analyses, spectral studies remote data, obtaining dates for soil horizons paths.
