摘要: The convict cichlid fish (Archocentrus nigrofasciatus) has a parental division of roles in which the male spends much his time defending territory while female remains near to offspring. This is not obligate because both parents do switch for brief periods and, absence mate, sexes will perform all roles. We predicted that depended on each parent being able successfully complete its task. If task could be completed by single parent, role specializations would reduced resulting labor. That is, same modified relative importance defensive changing number and location conspecific intruders. When we increased distant intruders from one two, found was unaffected. Neither activities, although they did attack Furthermore, when females an intruder...
