摘要: The characteristics of water sources are important factors that determine the methods treatments and quality distributed to consumers. Langat River borehole were investigated in this study obtain baseline for riverbank filtration (RBF) systems. Water samples from seven boreholes constructed at different distances river bank collected analyzed turbidity, color, BOD5, COD, NH3-N, E. coli, heavy metals. Results indicate average levels NH3-N 23, 52, 2 mg/L, respectively. is also very turbid with a turbidity value over 400 NTU. Metals not an issue, except iron (Fe) arsenic (As) 4.92 0.073 In addition, concentration pathogenic bacteria coli high 7,500 per 100 mL. exhibits improvement terms total dissolve solid (TDS), dissolved oxygen (DO), coli. However, trace elements, such as (As), higher boreholes; readings reached 0.13 mg/L. 0presence manganese (Mn) wells likewise high, between 0.35 0.95 distance main factor increase removal efficiency. Instead, site geology biogeochemical processes groundwater probably pollutant increased As Mn concentrations water. Based on information presented, may be able provide regarding suitability RBF system selected area.
