摘要: Offshore wind turbines are highly exposed to timevarying loads. For support structures, estimation of the fatigue damage during lifetime structure is an essential design aspect. This already applies for preliminary stage. In determining dynamic amplification in frequency domain, modal analysis a common tool. paper describes main drawback application design. Exact mode shapes not available, due concentrated inertia rotor nacelle assembly (RNA). Generally cantilever beam applied, which RNA mass neglected. analyzing three turbine types (V90-3.0MW, SWT-3.6-107 and NREL 5-MW), overestimation sea level loading observed. Estimation structural response at second natural turns out be poor. Within range considered masses, actual magnitude tower top does affect relative error much. Besides, by increasing stiffness, diminishes.
