Long noncoding RNA GM12371 acts as a transcriptional regulator of synapse function

摘要: Despite the growing evidence suggesting that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are critical regulators of several biological processes, their functions in nervous system remain elusive. We have identified an lncRNA, GM12371, hippocampal neurons is enriched nucleus and necessary for synaptic communication, synapse density, morphology, dendritic tree complexity. Mechanistically, GM12371 regulates expression genes involved neuronal development differentiation, as well specific lncRNAs cognate mRNA targets. Furthermore, we find cAMP-PKA signaling up-regulates its essential activity-dependent changes transmission neurons. Taken together, our data establish a key role regulating function.
