摘要: The influence of gender on the procedural outcome directional coronary atherectomy (DCA) is controversial. This study 373 consecutive patients (418 lesions) undergoing DCA demonstrates that success rate significantly lower in women compared with men (72.7 vs. 82.9%, p = 0.011). Women have smaller arteries than (2.5 mm 2.7 mm, 0.028) and were older (66 61 years, 0.0001). Multivariate analysis identifies small vessel size rather female per se as an independent predictor poor outcome. Procedural rates > or 2.5 higher (92.2%) (89.3%). Inability to engage ostium artery adequately guiding catheter cross lesion device more common men. Major ischemic complication are similar (8.5 8.7%). Groin complications (13.5 2.9%). We conclude may be improved by careful patient selection, particular attention size. best performed vessels diameter.
