摘要: By reviewing our experience, we evaluated the presentation, management, and long-term outcome of patients with subclavian axillary artery injuries resulting from trauma. We retrospectively reviewed data 38 who received treatment for or in Emergency Trauma Department Medical Faculty Istanbul, Istanbul University between January 1989 July 2002. Arterial were repaired an end-to-end anastomosis 10 (26.3%) patients, primary repair 6 (15.7%), autologous vein graft interposition 16 (42%), ligation 5 (13.1%), a proximal subclavian-brachial bypass 1 (2.6%). One (2.6%) arterial reconstructions failed perioperative period. Fourteen (36%) presented neurological deficit, which recovered after intervention 2 (5.2%) patients. A wound infection developed 8 (21%) died concomitant injuries. Thirteen (36.1%) remaining 36 followed up mean period 7 months. Successful management requires prompt diagnosis because occult nature these necessitates high index suspicion. Although revascularization procedures are often successful, it is associated neurological, orthopedic, soft tissue that affect functional limb.
