摘要: Spherical lipid bimolecular membranes of a large surface area separating two aqueous solutions were formed from the total extracts human red cell ghosts and their individual components. The isotopic permeabilities these to biologically important sugars related polyol measured. observedD-glucose lipid, phosphatidyl choline, ethanolamine, sphingomyelin, cholesterol 2.35, 2.51, 2.23, 1.35, 0.62×10(-10) cm/sec, respectively. These are about four five orders magnitude lower than that intact membrane. membrane made an identical extract different varied: values forD-glucose,D-mannose,D-ribose,D-fructose, 2-deoxy-D-glucose, 3-0-methyl-D-glucose, andD-mannitol 2.3, 2.6, 8.9, 0.38, 16.1, 11.2, 0.44×10(-10) pattern difference is neither parallel with nor as extensive observed membranes, however, agree qualitatively what predicted by analysis non-specific movements nonelectrolytes across membranes. failure lipids reproduce carrier function in structure most closely approximating living strongly suggests some components other required for this function.
