摘要: Despite many studies on selective attention, fundamental questions remain about its nature and neural mechanisms. Here I draw from the animal machine learning fields that describe attention as a mechanism for active uncertainty reduction explore implications of this view understanding visual eye movement control. propose closer integration these different views has potential greatly to expand our oculomotor control ability use system window into high level but poorly understood cognitive functions, including capacity curiosity exploration inferring internal models external world.
