摘要: The ambrosia beetle, Euwallacea aff. fornicata Eichhoff was first recorded in Israel 2009. symbiotic fungus Fusarium sp. nov., carried the mandibular mycangia of is responsible for typical wilt and dieback symptoms inflicted on avocado (Persea americana Miller) trees. beetle-fungus complex has become a serious threat to future industry elsewhere. When reared Petri dishes, inoculated with 7-day-old cultures beetle successfully completed its lifecycle developed from egg fertile adults approximately 60 days. Galleries that were produced PDA medium by adults, resembled those excavated host plant xylem under natural colonization conditions. not able survive when fed F. ambrosium but resulted 25 % mortality solani; both isolates originated infected tea. Likewise, larvae E. fornicatus tea Sri Lanka, or complete their supplied feed nov. isolated Israel. Isolates two other Fusaria, mangiferae mango oxysporum f. melonis melon, support development survival Israel, using same dish rearing method. This indicates isolate obligately required currently occurring affecting this crop additional hosts. usefulness assay study interactions between beetles fungal symbionts discussed.
