摘要: There is little relationship between eukaryotic RNA-directed RNA polymerases (RDRs), viral RNA-dependent (RdRps) and DNA-dependent polymerases, indicating that RDRs evolved as an independent class of enzymes early in evolution. In fungi, plants several animal systems, play a key role RNA-mediated gene silencing [post-transcriptional (PTGS) interference (RNAi) non-plants] are indispensable for heterochromatin formation, at least, Schizosaccharomyces pombe plants. Recent findings indicate PTGS, RNAi formation not only function host defence mechanisms against invading nucleic acids but also involved natural regulation. required these processes, initiating broad interest this enzyme class.
