摘要: Erwinia amylovora, the causal agent of fire blight disease apples and pears, is one most important plant bacterial pathogens with worldwide economic significance. In this chapter, author describes up-to-date information about genomes E. amylovora related species primarily associated pome fruit trees, provides recent developments in genome-enabled understanding virulence, highlights latest comparative functional genomic studies including proteomics transcriptomics, biology, population diversity, evolution group pathogens. The chapter also summarizes current progress pathogen its virulence mechanism from genome sequencing data, as well potential evolutionary origin these species. introduction part, contains comprehensive distribution, losses, spread disease, characteristics key features factors regulatory systems, type III secretion systems exopolysaccharide amylovoran. Future perspectives research directions biology to host–pathogen interactions are suggested.
