摘要: s: Herpes zoster is a disease of adulthood caused by reactivation varicella virus which lies dormant in sensory ganglia. Immunocompromised patients i.e. with malignancy/organ transplantation/AIDS; taking immunosuppressive drugs are more susceptible for herpes infection. Various prodromal features like pain, odontalgia, fever and regional lymphadenopathy precede the active lesions zosteri.e. unilateral vesicles (cutaneous/oral) ulcerations follows pathway dermatome this clinical appearance sufficiently distinctive to make diagnosis accurately without any other investigations. Antiviral e.g. Acyclovir, Famcyclovir Valacyclovir symptomatic treatment choice infection.[Mehta D et al NJIRM 2013; 4(1) : 112-116]
