摘要: Acknowledging the relevance of social networks on (social) travel behavior, objective this paper is to study comparatively distance patterns between home locations contacts. Analyses are based five recent personal network data collections from four countries: Canada, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Chile. Multilevel models, which explicitly account for hierarchical structure sets, used role explanatory variables understand spatiality Modeling results suggest that alter’s characteristics (such as type relationship, emotional closeness, duration relationship) well composition (alters with a certain relationship ego) constitute stronger predictors than ego’s socio-demographics across countries. In addition, comparative analyses differences countries relevant key such income ego-alter tie strength.
