摘要: Germline mutation of the CDH1 gene, which encodes for E-cadherin adhesion protein, is rare but confers an estimated lifetime risk hereditary diffuse gastric cancer higher than 80 %. Prophylactic total gastrectomy seems to eliminate high developing in patients with this mutation. Current guidelines propose accurate pre-operative work-up engage at who can be good candidates prophylactic surgery. In chapter we analyze general indications and diagnostic therapeutic work-up, particular reference techniques most used recommended.
