摘要: The porcine model is frequently used during development and validation of new spinal devices, because its likeness to the human spine. These devices are composed pedicle screws with a reputation for stable fixation but which can suffer pullouts preclinical implantation on young animals, leading high morbidity. With view identifying best choices optimize screw in model, this study evaluates ex vivo impact weight (age) animal, level vertebrae (lumbar or thoracic) type anchorage (mono- bi-cortical) pullouts. Among 80 pig (90- 140-day-old) tested study, average pullout forces ranged between 419.9N 1341.2N. In addition, statistical differences were found test groups, pointing out influence three parameters stated above. We that more caudally positioned level), greater their resistance is, moreover, stability increases age, finally, implanted mono-cortical sustained lower than those bi-cortical anchorage. conclude be obtained older using lumbar long traversing vertebra inducing very fixations need numerous prevent pullout.
