摘要: Background. Takotsubo cardiomyopathy is defined as a transient left ventricular dysfunction, usually accompanied by electrocardiographic changes. The literature documents only two other cases of in the latter setting. Methods. A 78-year-old female presented to ED with severe shortness breath, hypertension, and tachycardia. On physical exam, heart sounds (S1 S2) were regular wheezing was noticed bilaterally. We found laboratory results WBC 20.0 (103/μL), troponin 16.52 ng/mL, CK-mb 70.6%, BNP 177 pg/mL. patient intubated for acute hypoxemic respiratory failure. chest X-ray revealed large left-sided tension pneumothorax. Initial echocardiogram showed apical ballooning LVEF 10-15%. cardiac angiography normal coronary arteries no disease. After supportive treatment, patient's condition improved subsequent showing 60%. Conclusion. have setting exact mechanisms dysfunction not been clarified.
