摘要: This paper presents a concurrent brightness and contrast scaling (CBCS) technique for cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) back/it TFT-LCD display. The proposed aims at conserving power by reducing the backlight illumination while retaining image fidelity through preservation of contrast. First, we explain how CCFL works show to model non-linearity between its consumption. Next, propose distortion metric quantify quality loss after scaling. Finally, formulate optimally solve CBCS optimization problem subject distortion. Experimental results that an average 3.7X saving can be achieved with only 10%
