The posterior triangle in radical neck surgery.

摘要: • We evaluate the importance of cancer spread to lymphatic system in posterior triangle. The triangle tissues 51 radical neck specimens were serially sectioned and studied for metastatic involvement. findings correlated with anterior primary tumor. Of operations performed, 25 elective 26 therapeutic carcinoma larynx, pharynx, oral cavity. Metastasis triangles was detected 88.4% group 24.0% group. However, no metastasis found either group, regardless site suggest that can be totally preserved surgery, which may make preservation spinal accessory nerve a more likely practice.
