摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter provides a brief overview of sea urchin development. Sea embryos offer several important experimental benefits to investigators interested in developmental mechanisms. These features are complementary the genetically oriented model species that commonly used for studies. can be cultured easily, inexpensively, and large quantities. In particular, it is simple rear numbers synchronously developing larvae. makes possible biochemical, molecular, cellular techniques would difficult or costly many other systems. The larvae urchins transparent anatomically simple. Together, transparency rapid development allow consequences manipulations documented followed over time living embryos.
