摘要: There has been an increasing role for molecular diagnostics in the diagnosis and management of cancer, colorectal carcinoma is no exception. Recent advances have elucidated 3 broad subtypes including chromosomal instability, microsatellite cytosine-phosphoguanine island methylator phenotype, which will be discussed. Also, common syndromes associated with reviewed a focus on differentiation between Lynch syndrome unstable tumors. Molecular biomarkers predictive prognostic markers are also becoming widely used, due to clinical use monoclonal antibodies epidermal growth factor receptor, emphasis placed that pathway.
