摘要: The environmental benefits of waste desulfurization were evaluated in the Santa Catarina coal field, Brazil. Coal from a beneficiation plant was separated into three density fractions, using two stage process. Characterization these fractions indicated that low (D 2.7 g/cm3) potentially suitable for energy and sulfuric acid production, respectively. fraction intermediate (2.2 < D < 2.7 g/cm3) represented 69% total mass studied had relatively sulfide content, it postulated may be land disposal with minimum risk to surrounding environment. This hypothesis tested laboratory-scale static kinetic tests, which although remained net generating, rate amount metals, salts, acidity leached considerably less than discards before separation. It concluded this approach could reduce generated, as well associated pollution risk.
