摘要: Abstract Glasses of lithium fluoroborate the composition LiF 15%–B2O3 85% with increasing CuO as added dopant were prepared and characterized by combined optical FTIR spectroscopy before after gamma irradiation. The spectrum undoped glass reveals strong UV absorption two distinct peaks at about 235 310 nm no visible bands. This is related to presence unavoidable trace iron impurity (Fe3+) within materials used for preparation this glass. After irradiation, shows a decrease intensity bands together resolution an induced broad band centered 520 nm. doped glasses reveal same beside very 780 nm extension splitting several component higher contents. Upon spectra all CuO-doped pronounced their intensities. response irradiation on studied correlated suggested photochemical reactions some shielding effect copper ions. observed distorted octahedral Cu2+ Infrared show repetitive characteristic triangular tetrahedral borate units similar that published from alkali or alkaline earth oxides B2O3 glasses. A formation (BO3/2F) advanced through action these showing position number BO4 tetrahedra.
