摘要: Short bowel syndrome is an uncommon disease that results from extensive intestinal resection. patients develop severe malabsorption of macronutrients, micronutrients, electrolytes and water, pose difficult management problems. This report describes a typical patient with the short how each component managed to maintain nutritional, electrolyte, water balance. In practice, some become dependent on parenteral nutrition for life, while others independent time due adaptation can be oral intake supplementations. are at risk developing gallstones, oxalate kidney stones and, rarely, d-lactic acidosis, pathophysiology these processes outlined. A minority may ultimately require transplantation irreversible complications, current status this intervention reviewed. Finally, growth factors stimulate thus, enhance absorptive capacity, currently being identified eventually introduced in treatment patients.
